If you have more than one email account, then you may have them both (or them all, if you have more than two) on your iPhone. The Mail app on the device does a great job of combining all of your email messages into one collective inbox, which makes checking emails a much simpler process.
But you might find that you no longer use one of those email addresses, and that every message you receive at that address is unwanted. If that is the case, then you may decide to delete the email account from your iPhone. Our guide will show you the steps to follow in order to accomplish this task.
Removing an Email Account on an iPhone
Step 1: Tap the Settings icon.
Step 2: Scroll down and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Step 3: Select the email account that you want to delete from your iPhone 6.
Step 4: Tap the red Delete Account button at the bottom of the menu.
Step 5: Tap the red Delete Account button at the bottom of the screen to confirm removal of the email account from the device.
Additional Notes
- This does not cancel the email account. It only removes it from this iPhone.
- If you wish to remove this email account from other iPhones or iPads, then you will need to repeat this process on each of those devices.
- This will also remove other items associated with this account, such as any notes, calendars, or contacts.
- All of the email messages for this account will be removed from the iPhone.
If you are removing items from your iPhone to save space, then deleting unused apps can be a very effective choice.
