Downloading an app from the iPhone’s App Store can take as little as a couple of seconds. Many of these apps are free, and provide functionality that the iPhone does not have by default. However, your iPhone does not have an unlimited amount of space, and you will eventually need to remove some files or apps to make room for new things.
The steps below will show you a short method that you can use to delete apps that you have downloaded from the App Store to Your iPhone 5.
Uninstalling Apps on an iPhone 5
Step 1: Find the app that you want to remove. I am going to delete the LoopNet app in this example.
Step 2: Tap and hold on the app icon until it starts to shake, and a small x appears at the top-left corner of the app icon.
Step 3: Tap that small x icon on the app that you want to delete.
Step 4: Touch the Delete button to confirm that you wish to uninstall this app from your iPhone.
Additional Notes
- This deletes associated data for that app as well.
- You can re-download the app from the App Store at any time.
- There are apps on your iPhone that cannot be deleted. These are the default apps included with all iPhones. If there is no x on an app icon, then it cannot be uninstalled.
